Back from Vacation

Well it has been forever since I last posted. We have been crazy the last few weeks. So this is what we have been up to.

We have been discussing for a while and we finally made the decision to get Greg
"snipped", so he got that done, he had work training for 4 days in Salt Lake and then we left for Seattle. We drove because we now have to buy 3 airplane tickets and driving is so much cheaper. We headed off Thursday afternoon, the car full of snacks, toys, and DVDs. The kids were great, except when Lola had to cry herself to sleep and trying to keep Caden quiet while Lola was sleeping. I get to sleep and keep the kids busy while Greg drives the whole way. We decided to stop in Oregon and stay the night. We could've gotten to Seattle at around 2am, but then our kids would have woken up around 6am so we decided we wanted to be well-rested. We got to Seattle and it was good to see my family, even though we didn't get to see my brother Ming. Caden loved playing with Nana, Papa, and all his uncles and aunties. Lola was shy, but she did finally warm up when we were close to leaving, of course. You might all be surprised, but it did not rain one single day while we were there. There was an overcast for about a day and a half, but we took the opportunity to go to the aquarium. We went on a ferry ride to Bainbridge Island, went to Sharon and Gene's wedding, which was absolutely wonderful, celebrated my mom's birthday, and enjoyed a great vacation in Seattle with friends (Hannah, Nate, and Derek) and family. Next time we are going to stay 2 weeks. We left WA a week later and drove down to Oregon where we got to hang out with our dear friends, the Morgans. It was so good to see them. We knew them in Utah during college and then they abandoned us for Oregon. We see them everytime we go up to see my family. They are only 3 hours away, so why not, right? The kids had a blast together and the adults had fun too. It was great to see Jed and Lyla grow up so much. Caden still asks for his Jed. Saturday, we drove back to Utah and we stopped in Boise and then headed home Sunday. I didn't miss the Utah heat, that's for sure, but Greg did think it got chilly in Seattle at night. Here are some Seattle pics, more of our trip will come soon.

Like father, like daughter.
Cheese!
Twins.

Caden counting the fish at the aquarium.
Ah! I think is surprised her.

We have been back for a couple of days and it still has been crazy. Lola is sick and I have been potty training Caden. You are probably thinking, "oh my goodness, Caden is almost 3 and a half and is still in diapers!" I honestly can say, I don't care for those comments anymore. Getting critiqued as a parent is a norm and I am getting pretty used to it now. It was great for our car trip because we never had to stop for potty breaks unless we really had to. He is doing a lot better than he did the first time I tried and so am I. I let him choose to go when he has to and it has worked out(most of the time). The only thing that has been a real struggle is having Lola crying after me when I am helping Caden. She wants to be held all day because she is sick and grumpy.

That has been us so far and I forgot to mention I am so excited...this Friday my friend Rachel and I are going to the Breaking Dawn release party. If you don't know what it is, it is the fourth and last installment of the Twilight book series. We are making t-shirts, going out to dinner, and going to the party, and we will get the book at midnight. We are going to have a grand time and I will let you know all about it. I will have to control myself so I won't read the book all that night because once I am done, it's over so I am going to try to take my time. Greg and I are busy reading the Count of Monte Cristo right now anyway so hopefully it will slow me down a little.

Memories...

Thanks Delee and El for the idea :)

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Time Flies...

This summer seems to be flying by. We have been busy , it seems like everyday. We play in the pool a couple of times a week, we have playdates, we run errands, we clean, and we do absolutely nothing. It has been great. Our 4th of July really wasn't that great. Greg had to work all weekend long so I was with the kids all weekend and we just hung out. We spent the night at Grandma and Grandpas and then we had a family bbq right after for Max's (our nephew) 2nd bday. That was a lot of fun. Caden and Lola love to play with their cousins. Too bad he only has 1 in Seattle. We are excited to go up soon.

Hope everyone is having a fun summer. I just wanted to let people know that we are alive and doing well.

Congrats to Kevin and Shannon. They had a baby girl, Hailey. She is so cute and so small. They grow up so fast. I forgot how small they are and how much they sleep.

Congrats to Steve and Holly. Their new addition is Sophee. We are terrible and still haven't seen them and it has been two months.

Congrats to those that have had summer babies and expecting them soon. Congrats to those that are getting married as well. 2008 is the year! Don't expect anything like that from us.
